A person who feels safe to express authentically c A person who feels safe to express authentically can bring genuine thoughts and compassion into different facets of life including but not limited to relationships and leadership.

So often today, thoughts become polarizing and the agenda can become political. While many come with good intentions in what they want to shed light on, the expression can become one-sided to highlight a certain system or way of being that may be causing injustice.

It is absolutely important to bring light to social causes and topics related to injustice but when viewpoints become extreme (and this can happen to anyone), it is often because we haven’t ridden the full wave of the duality of a situation.

Without meeting the light and dark within, you may be prone to finding yourself speaking to half-truths.

An example of a half-truth is shedding light on the way the western world of medicine has been more focused on profit than getting to the root cause. This is partly true. There are also branches that have stemmed from traditional medicine that are now focusing on tending to the root cause.

Another half-truth would be that spiritual ceremonies can be very healing. Some can be and others can expose people to wounded healers who take advantage (a story that isn’t too uncommon).

When you start to own the light and the shadow from a place of deep compassion, it’s not that these injustices simply go away. It is that you are able to expand the container for truth to be expressed.

Truth is often freeing. It doesn’t deny the unjust situations you see playing out in the world. It helps to expand your lens so that you are able to see all of it with more love and openness.

And from that place, instead of just bringing insights to the forefront, you start to take actions to create the change you’d wish to see in the world.

That’s the key — truth activates you to move differently. And this is why authentic expression is fundamental to rising up in meeting all of who you are and all of who you could be.

Two of my favorite moments in my yoga journey are: Two of my favorite moments in my yoga journey are:

🌈In 2021, I went to a beautiful island and ended up parting ways with an ex on that trip. During one of the days when we were debriefing, we noticed some guests going to the sunset deck waiting for yoga to begin but the teacher didn’t show up. My ex suggested I teach yoga but I knew this might be against the hotel policy.

I asked the guests if they would be willing to let me teach and the wellbeing leader actually asked for my information before I led the class. Afterward, one of the women shared that she was a breast cancer survivor and was so moved by my journey in healthcare to holistic wellness that she said she would suggest to the front desk about me potentially teaching here.

3 months later, I taught as a guest Yoga Teacher for two weeks. It was one of the first times I let myself feel so much joy in doing what I do. And it felt like such little effort was required on my part. It felt like “oh but of course.”

And on the days where my physical body needed to be recharged, I asked the divine to make up for what I could not and in those classes, I witnessed my body moving in ways I didn’t even know I could move.

🌈In 2022, I taught yoga at Rockefeller Center in New York City. When I asked the coordinator how she found me, she said a woman on LinkedIn was spreading the mission of women she felt were embodying qualities of a leader and my name got dropped. Up to this day, I still don’t know who she is.

This is what happens when humans empower one another. This is what happens when people are rooting you on and you don’t even know it. This is what happens when you play into the magic of life.

Many things do require structure and healthy discipline. But it’s moments like these that remind you that the sheer beauty of life lies in the magic you are willing to let yourself be open to. The events that aren’t planned. The endings that lead to new beginnings (right away it seems). The opportunities that land in your lap when you aren’t necessarily looking.

When your heart is open, you shall receive all the good.

So do what you love.

The rest will take care of itself.

I still smile when looking back on how The Yoga Mo I still smile when looking back on how The Yoga Movement began. I was desperately trying to leave what I thought would be my dream job. After months of back-and-forth with my manager, we finally met and she presented an opportunity that would be hard to reject.

She wanted me to stay and encouraged me to look for other departments I was interested in so she could create a position for me.

When I heard those words, how could I resist?

I walked over to my favorite boutique on the Upper East Side to celebrate. And in a whirlwind of events, my life path had changed.

The clerk who wouldn’t let me just listen to music with my headphones on insisted we talk and in that hour-long conversation, she says “you’re not meant to be doing what you’re doing. You’re meant to be an entrepreneur.”

I didn’t know how to continue the conversation after that. As life synchronistically shows us, these are guides on our path who make sure we don’t go off-course even when the shiny carrot dangling in front of us seems just perfect.

When I left that job, I taught two small yoga classes afterward. Each had up to 3 people in it with some being my work colleagues. And then a month later, I was offered an opportunity to teach yoga at a fundraiser with thousands of people attending.

It made no sense and yet, I ran with it.

Since its inception, this work has branched out beyond yoga.

Starting in late 2020, people started reaching out for reiki healing sessions as deep trauma was surfacing for them. This ultimately led me to learn more about different forms of holistic healing including learning from shamans in Peru and Costa Rica.

After moving through a personal transformation of my own, I can safely say this new chapter is calling me forth to help people unlock their authentic voice to shine their true inner being—the inner being who naturally turns the vision into actualization, the words into spoken manifestation.

Currently, I’m exploring the art of storytelling and also offering the space for people with heart-led businesses to share the voice of their mission too.

It’s time for synergy.

TW: violence | narcissistic abuse Narcissism is e TW: violence | narcissistic abuse

Narcissism is eerily prevalent on our planet and one of the places that it impacts people most is the voice — feeling unsafe to honor authentic self-expression and communication.

Whether it was being tied to systems of control that subtly manipulate what you say to fulfill their agenda, relationships where your authentic self was shamed, or imbalanced dynamics where you may have learned to listen emphatically to people only to have your truth dismissed or silenced.

This is where the mirror has to turn inward and one has to ponder where energy was leaked, where innate power was unconsciously given away, and what’s the pay-off in repressing your authentic expression to live a false identity.

To speak your truth isn’t necessarily an easy path to walk on.

And yet, it’s tremendously rewarding because it holds you to a higher standard where you eventually stop blaming the systems and start reclaiming your power.

To sit with the knowing that you are not tied to any system unless you decide to be. To hold the weight of your power as it moves through your body and intentionally direct it where you want it to go. To stop reverting to systems that try to hinder creativity for fear that you might discover who you really are.

As you reclaim your power and sovereignty by owning your truth, the systems fall away — but not often in the way you imagine it would.

They come undone in the mind and eventually you feel the impact of your power coursing through your veins. Which means your creative potential doesn’t come from outside of you or any system. It comes from within.

Speak your truth. Remember your power. Reclaim radiant health. And shine brightly like the creative force you are.

And watch life mirror these bold moves back at you.

Because there is nothing more life-giving than embodying and walking your truth — with conviction, faith and courage.
